A fantastic performance by contenders of the made brighter by MTN spotlight who sung their hearts out on stage during an event held at MTN head offices, eZulwini yesterday with all ten of them eager to progress to the top five and crowning the ultimate winner towards the end of the competition.
The event started at 11:30am and concluded at 2pm with Banele, the last contestant 012 singing “forever” before the closedown of the show.
Atmosphere
Singing is about expressing yourself and having the freedom to voice out your thoughts in front of an audience and this what each and every one of these contestants did on stage. The contestants brought their A game on stage and in front of the judges panel who were witnessing the contenders sweet melody because it is said that where words fail, music speaks.
Contenders alongside the music crew such as saxophonist Zwile Bhembhe were seen in action playing good sounds and entertaining the audience with sweet tunes to make this event the most memorable show as the songs were rejuvenating the attendees and actually making them imagine being in another planet due to the sweet rhythms on stage.
Performance
Upon arrival on stage for each contender, Hip Hop star and co-founder of HeadCount, KrTC real name Thamsanqa Sibandze who was the host was calling each and every contestant on stage to deliver their songs in front of well- known singers such as Velemseni who was the judge of the day.
To get the top 10 rolling, 5 contestants were eliminated leaving space for 10 people. The first performance from the top 10 was contestant 020, Phakamile singing “you fight for me”
The second performance came from contestant 002 Ntsetselelo, third contender Ayanda sung “I love you”, Nobesuthu contestant 004 sung on stage also, Simphiwe contestant 009 sung “never gave up” Sanele contestant 013 sung “loving you”, Nonjabulo contestant 018 sung “speechless”, Mnqobi contestant 016 sung “adulting” and lastly, Bongumusa contestant 001 also sung a great gospel vibe much to the amusement of judge Velemseni.
Voting
The voting process for the top 15 ended 29th October 2021 at 3pm and the top 10 voting process will soon be announced on the Spotlight: Made brighter by MTN Facebook page as the viewers are still to choose their favorites for the top 5 where the Swazi people can vote for them on the Ayoba app.
