Season 3 of Spotlight is getting tougher and tougher and only one contestant will be the winner at the end. The top 5 elimination show which aired on Sunday was full of energy and surprises for some as the top 6 remained top 6.
The brief was to pull out all the stops and provide viewers with Performances of banging Amapiano tracks and they delivered.
The contestants first performed in two groups, with group A performing Pabi Cooper’s Isphithiphithi ft Reece Madlisa, Busta929 & Joocy and Group B performing Banyana by DJ Maphorisa & Tyler ICU ft. Sir Trill, Daliwonga & Kabza De Small.
The top 6 contestants were a ball of nerves as they waited to see who made it to the top 5. The first contestant to secure her spot in the top 5 was Simphiwe Mnisi. The next contestant to make it to the top 5 was 20-year-old Nobesuthu Zungu from Luyengo.
Sanele Mkhwanazi, Phakamile Dlamini and Nonjabulo also made it to the next round. Mnqobi Nkambule was saved at the last minute as he had the least votes. The judges decided to use their save as they believe in his talent. He was declared safe, keeping the total at 6 remaining contestants.
