The Spotlight season 3 gets closer to crowning its winner as the top 8 became the top 6 during the live episode on Sunday.
The top 6 contestants performed their hearts out and the theme of the show was 100% local. The three resident judges were joined by singer-songwriter Msimisi Sithole.
The first person to wow the judges is none other than Simphiwe Mnisi. She brought all the power to the Spotlight stage with her stunning performance of Lutsandvo by Sethu.
The second contestant to perform is Sanele Mkhwanazi. Sanele isn’t playing around. That performance of “Vuma” must have Sands feeling pretty good about his work.
A round of applause to Nobesuthu, the third contestant to take the stage. Nobesuthu’s performance of Floewe’s “Ngibambe” was riveting.
Congratulations to Mnqobi Nkambule the fourth contestant to perform. Mnqobi came prepared for his performance of “New Season”, a song from the collaborative efforts of Mozaik and Ziyawa.
A huge congratulation to Phakamile for making it to the top 6. She performed “Happy People” by Khole, however she struggled to impress the judges.
Last but not least a round of applause to Nonjabulo Magagula. What a voice! Nonjabulo absolutely owned that performance of Velemseni’s “Barely”
Unfortunately, it’s end of the road for 2 contestants. We bid farewell to Ntsetselelo Mkhonta and Ayanda Dlamini.
