The 33 –year- old Former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Anele Ngcongca died in a car crash in the early hours of the morning. Ngcongca was thrown out of the vehicle and died on the scene, the was car driven by female companion believed to be his agent who is said to be in a critical condition in hospital.
Tweets keep flooding, people are amazed that his death comes just a few days after that of his ex-girlfriend Mshoza.
Details remain sketchy at this point as to what caused the accident, but it occurred in Umlazi, Kwazulu-Natal. The vehicle was found on a grass embankment just off the N2. Rescue teams arrived at the scene shortly after the crash took place, but unfortunately, they were unable to save Ngcongca and he was pronounced dead at the scene of crime.
Ngcongca was recently released by Sundowns to play for AmaZulu. Anele made over 300 appearances at the highest levels of European football, turning out in the top flights of Belgium and France respectively. He won both the Belgian League and Cup with Genk during his nine-year stay with the club, who made their first Champions League appearance in 2012.
