The timeline is in a sombre mood, as the reality that Mshoza is no more finally sinks in. As a pioneer of Kwaito music genre, Nomasonto Maswanganyi was well known in South Africa and beyond. The kwaito star passed away 19th November 2020, leaving a serious gap in the music industry. Mshoza it has since been established died due to complications from diabetes. This came after being hospitalized after a serious health scare.

According to her manager Thanduxolo Jindela, Mshoza was rushed to hospital on Wednesday afternoon. ‘’we were obviously keeping it out of the media that she is hospitalized. Remember, there is Mshoza that everybody knows. Then there is Nomasonto and she didn’t like such things to be known’’. He said.

The late star, rose to fame as first Lady of Kwaito with her smash hit Kortes in the early 2000s from her debut album Bulldawgz First Lady. She collaborated with stars such as Mzambiya and Msawawa, releasing the smash hit. In 2016 she worked with Jindela in staging her music comeback when the single Abantu bam was released.

Nothing on funeral arrangements has been shared at this stage. Mshoza is survived by her 2 children who were pride and joy as well as her 2 sisters.
