Sunday, 13 March 2022 – The Epic Gig – Episode III 2022 is back for another year after a two year break due to Covid-19. This year’s event promises to be the biggest yet as the organiser’s are set to have two stages at the spectacle and double the number of performers on the line up.

The event, which will take place on 25 June 2022, will be hosted at the Malkerns Club. Tammy Dlamini, event director of The Epic Gig comments, “We are pleased to be back for another Epic Gig 2022 this year. We would like to announce a concept called The Freshman Stage where we will be featuring new artists and Djs in Eswatini. We are giving our fresh talent an opportunity to showcase what they have to offer on their very own platform. We will deliver more details on how entries can be sent to us soon as we want to drive public participation this year. We are however focusing on Hip Hop and Amapiano artists as per the consistent music focus of The Epic Gig as a brand.” Although the artist lineup is yet to be announced, The Epic Gig will this year have two stages for festival goers to enjoy.

The main stage will feature the established artists we all know and love, while The Freshman Stage will showcase talent that started off in the last four years. Details on how entries can be made for The Freshman Stage will be released on The Epic Gig 2022 Facebook and Instagram pages. Dlamini continues, “The music industry has experienced many challenges since the start of Covid-19. The Epic Gig 2022 not only sees us putting our new talent on stage and giving them an opportunity to perform, it also adds to all the effort currently being put in by industry professionals to regenerate activity in the industry and get things back on track.”

Some of the big names who have performed at The Epic Gig in the past include Kabza De Small, Mlindo De Vocalist, Kwesta, Nadia Nakai, A-Reece, Buffalo Souljah to name a few. Ticket prices will cost in the region of E250 with an estimated 35 performers on both stages combined for the day. The public who attends will be required to follow Covid-19 protocols as per regulations from The Ministry of Health. “Leading up to the event we will be sharing a number of exciting updates with the public including an opportunity to attend the exclusive The Epic Gig 2022 event launch. We will also have merchandise for our fans to buy with some up for grabs for our biggest fans.” concluded Dlamini.
