Multi-talented hitmaker, Lady Du collected Best Female Award at the first annual South African Amapiano Awards. In a category filled with notable and incredible talent that the game has to offer, this award is definitely the crowning moment of the Queen of Amapiano. The South African Amapiano Awards were hosted at the Sandton Convention Centre on the 23rd of October.
We always knew that Lady Du is the Queen of Amapiano. She has consistently been at the top of the charts since 2019, owning the Amapiano sound as the leading female voice in the genre. With over 10 years in the game, Lady Du has not rested in trying to break into the industry. She often speaks about the difficulties that come with being a female artist and this award is certifying that this year is hers for the taking.
A dreamer with a township flair and a desire to inspire those who are around her to be better. “This one is for the dreamers, for the young girls out there working hard to make things happen, it is possible,” she says.
