CEO of the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC), Stanley Dlamini gave a few words about the event and its importance during such times, “Due to the recent reduction in activity in the arts and culture sector, we have seen not only our industry suffer but many others who are dependent on the activity we generate.
Those in catering, security, venue hire and sound and equipment, and many others, were all affected by the challenges we faced as a globe and hence the need to regenerate activity where we can. Events such as The Epic Gig Episode III are vital not only to our area of focus, but also in extending opportunities beyond the limits of entertainment to all these industries that I have mentioned. 2 We are looking forward to this event for not only emaSwati to enjoy, but we also hope those in the SADC region will attend giving a much needed boost to our hospitality and tourist focused trades.” The event will this year boast two stages with the launch of the Freshman stage.
Artists with a maximum of 4 year’s experience in the music industry get to enjoy the opportunity of possibly featuring in this space, while also maximizing their exposure and CV. Dlamini concludes, “This year’s Epic Gig Episode III promises to be the biggest yet. In addition to artists from beyond our borders, we will be featuring our best local talent and offering new artists a chance to get their names out there. The day will also have retailers exhibiting their goods and services creating a lifestyle experience for everyone present. The idea is to have an event that is remembered and enjoyed every year by all who attend it.” The public can look forward to standing a chance to win Epic Gig Episode III merchandise, tickets and giveaways from our sponsors. The event is restricted to those above 18.
