Today at 11.00am in a live simulcast by DT Photography / DTTV at House On Fire (Malkerns), Standard Bank Eswatini unveiled its brand influencers as part of their ongoing Brand Repositioning It Can Be. This event was attended by Standard Bank officials including the Marketing & Communications Manager Sibusile Sigwane and Marketing Officer Anele Shabalala to name but a few. Anele was also served as the moderator for the event, in her opening remarks she thanked all participants for choosing to partner with Standard Bank under their new brand reposition.

After which she introduced Sibusile Sigwane (Marketing & Communications Manager) who briefly explained the sole purpose of searching influencers to represent the ‘’Blue Bank’’. ‘’As you may be aware Standard Bank is reinventing itself by changing its brand position and tagline from Moving Forward to It Can Be. We have been Moving Emaswati forward for the past 11years it’s time now to find new ways of making their dreams a reality especially in these trying Covid 19 times. It can Be is all about restoring hope for our people, hence we chose to work with influencers to cement our brand purpose which is finding new ways to make dreams possible.’’ She said.

The search for these influencers began in August with a total of 7 different Categories with 3participants that were shortlisted to represent each. The categories were as follows;

Agriculture– Khulile Dlamini, Gcina Shalom Dlamini & Phiwa Shongwe

The winner here was Phiwa Shongwe, young lady who owns a farming business that grows Red, Green and Yellow peppers with an ambition to venture in mushroom and poultry farming.

 

Community Development– Bonkhe Shabangu, Thabiso Ncamiso Dlamini & Thabo Mnisi

The winner being Thabo Mnisi, Clothing Brand owner of Touch Of Soul (TOS) whose ambition is to help other budding business owners.

 

Retail- Tigcebile Maphalala, Ziyanda Sikiti & Mfundo Mabuza

The winner being Mfundo Mabuza a young nutritionist with a dream of seeing Eswatini grow more local produce because food security is the future.

 

Technology & innovation– Nkhosinatie Masilela, Linda Mantini & Celumusa Dlamini

The winner being Linda Mantini a young man who has developed an App to help all school going students choose their career paths and enrol into higher educational institutions such as UNESWA, LIMKOWING etc.

 

Women Empowerment-Nomsa Mbuli, Nothando Khabako Mhlanga & Zama Potgieter

The winner being Nomsa Mbuli a young lady who advocates against gender based violence and advocates for the empowerment of young girls & women, she works closely with an Ngo called COPSE.

 

Creative Media– Thando Ginindza, Mbulelo Ndlovu & Bhengu Boiz

The winner being Mbulelo Ndlovu a young man with a passion for photography who has an ambition of one day owning an art studio to showcase and sell his work.

 

Arts– Dr Shakes, Linda Dlamini & Smallz, Gogo & Silwane

The winners being Smallz, Gogo & Silwane (bottomless laughter) the guys are well known comedians who have an ambition of empowering other budding comedian all over the kingdom of Eswatini.

There you have it Eswatini, whatever your dream is always know that IT CAN BE.
