Nominations for the 2021 edition of the MTN SWAMA Awards are now open, and this year categories including Best Online Presentation, Most Downloaded Caller Tune, Most Streamed Song on Music Time and President’s Award were excluded from the list.
However, three new categories were introduced and these are Best Actor/Actress, Best Fine Arts and Best Fashion Designer.
The prestigious annual event aims to reward local artists for their industriousness and meticulousness in their various arts.
Nominations have already begun on November 13 and ends on November 2, 2021. During the MTN SWAMA Awards launch on Saturday, it was also revealed that the voting period will only take no longer take a full month as per usual. This time around, voting will start on November 27 to December 15.

SWAMA President Lutfo Dlamini announced that this year’s awards will be worth E10 000 each, with an exception of Song of the year being worth E20 000.
