Eswatini’s highly acclaimed bright gospel music festival is back within the new normal. The 2020 show was cancelled following the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the country which had caused a number of shows cancelled around that time last year.
The MTN iPraise, which usually takes place around July, had to be cancelled to ensure the safety of Emaswati, which was MTN and Destiny Music’s number one priority.
For the 2019 show, MTN partnered with Destiny Music and injected E700 000. It was the very first iPraise, as it had replaced the annual MTN Joyous Celebration Live Concert, which was previously hosted every year in July. The show had featured South African Dr Tumi, Nigerian gospel singer Tim Godfrey alongside Eswatini’s Nothando Hlophe and many others.
