In a sad development, it is with a heavy heart that we announce that world-renowned South African Jazz musician  Mam’  Sibongile Khumalo has died.  It has been confirmed that Mam Sibongile Khumalo died earlier today. She was 63.

Details surrounding Sibongile’s death are still unknown as an official statement from her family is pending.

The greatly talented musician rose to become one of the most recognized  jazz musicians in South Africa and was celebrated all over the world.

She burst into the limelight when she won Standard Bank Young Artist Award at the Grahamstown Festival. Her debut album, ancient Evenings is considered by critics to be among her best work.
