Local artist Umuti joins The Epic Gig Episode III line-up
20 June 2022, Malkerns – KRTC and Mtha have been announced as the hosts of The Epic Gig Episode III. These two personalities will be responsible for pulling the whole show together and ushering the crowd through the night’s performances. The Epic Gig Episode III will take place at Malkerns Country Club on 25 June 2022.
On being selected to be a host at The Epic Gig Episode III KRTC had this to say, “I am honoured to have been selected as a host for The Epic Gig Episode III. Fans can look forward to lots of excitement as myself and Mtha keep them energised from 12noon until 10am on 25 June 2022. I am looking forward to seeing our local talent on stage and watching the crowd appreciate our home grown talent. We have so much to offer as an entertainment industry in Eswatini. We are also excited to be welcoming artists that have never performed in Eswatini before into our beautiful country. It’s always such a pleasure to hype up the crowd and introduce an artist on stage. The Epic Gig is creating a platform for fashion, creativity and energy that is much needed by young people right now. Big up to Toxik Entertainment for daring to put together a show of this magnitude. Thanks to all the sponsors and partners for putting their hands up to support arts and entertainment. It’s going to be epic!”
Artists who will be performing in Eswatini for the first time at The Epic Gig Episode III include Bokkie ULT, Costa Titch, Andile Mpisane and Blxckie. Local artist Umuti will also be joining the line-up. In response to being added to the line-up for 25 June, Umuti, previously known as Mosaik commented, “In anticipation of my new EP, which will be dropping soon, I am thrilled to be performing for the first time on a huge stage like The Epic Gig Episode III this year. I’m bringing the best of what I have to offer for you guys; a mix of new music and some of my classic hits. I recently rebranded and relaunched my professional name to ‘Umuti’ a name which will carry me and my music into the years to come. Shout out to Toxik Entertainment for putting on a great show. Mtha who will be hosting The Epic Gig Episode III alongside KRTC is a popular host who has been in Eswatini’s entertainment industry for a number of years now. Mtha gave a sneak peak of what fans can expect on 25 June at Malkerns Country Club, “Amapiano vs Hip Hop is a beautiful rivalry that will only see fans dance from the time The Epic Gig Episode III starts on Saturday until the sun comes up again on Sunday Morning. Myself and KRTC will keep everyone who attends the show energised and ready for each item on the line-up. It is indeed going to be an EPIC show. Well done Toxik Entertainment for bringing us The Epic Gig Episode III. I can’t wait to see you there!”
Those who still want to attend The Epic Gig Episode III on 25 June at Malkerns Country Club can still buy tickets, however, as they are close to getting sold out, we advise that they do so soon. Tickets for The Epic Gig Episode III can be bought at Movie Zone at The Gables, Computicket, Shoprite, all Galito’s, Pizza Inn and Chicken Inn outlets nationwide. A general access ticket costs E300, VIP E500 and VVIP E10 000. The VVIP experience includes a platter, mixers, two bottles of either gin, whiskey or brandy and a lounge from which the VVIP guests can enjoy all the main acts the day has to offer.
Those who will be coming to The Epic Gig Episode III can look forward to a variety of food stalls and three bars to choose from. Due to the venue being on a lawn, camp chairs, picnic mats and hookah’s will be allowed into the gates, though these will be subject to security checks before entry. Cooler boxes will not be allowed through the gates as all drinks inside the venue will be poured into plastic cups. Ample parking is available at the venue.
Tammy Dlamini, Festival Director, comments on safety at The Epic Gig, “We want everyone who attends The Epic Gig Episode III to be comfortable and enjoy the experience. No food or drinks from outside the venue will be allowed onto the premises. We will have a strict no bottles policy to avoid any safety hazards associated with glass. Fans must expect to be checked by security when they arrive to create an environment that is safe for all those who will be there to enjoy good music and a great atmosphere. We have also decided to start the day’s line-up early to cater for those who do not want to stay late into the evening. No matter what time from 12 noon you decide to arrive there will be something to look forward to.”
