Today we celebrate every woman on the planet. Internationals Women’s day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.

Happy International day to our Swati female artists who are thriving in the music industry. Your work is recognized and appreciated with love. The music industry is a hard business especially for an unsigned female artists.

Well overdue we say! Enough of women trying to make it in a man’s world. Here’s to redefining, reinventing and reigniting. You are the voice and role models to other women fighting for their recognition in the industry. Your music brings so much love and beauty into our country.

1.The_Velemseni

The jazz, neo-soul, afro pop artist has released hit singles as a swazi artist and has raised the country’s flag high with her amazing voice. Her single ‘’Barely’’ won the best afro-soul song at the 2020 MTN SWAMA Awards.

2.Fikile Floewe Dhladhla

Floewe is one of the country most gifted vocalists and composers who began composing and writing her music when she was 15. Ever since, she has never lost her passion in music. She recently released a song titled ‘’Ngiyavuma’’. Floewe has collaborated with artists such as US hip-hop artist Toni Blackman, Selaelo Selota, and Siphokazi Maraqana.

3.Nomalungelo Dladla

Nomalungelo is one top female afro-soul musician in the country. At the age of 21, she had already made a debut single ‘’Imiyalo’’ and she was awarded several awards making waves in the several local and South African radio and TV. Her vocal ability and song writing skills earned her millage in the music scenery in Eswatini.

4.Nothando Hlophe

Nothando is one of the new-age gospel artist that our country has ever seen. With her hit singles ‘’Khululu ugcobo, Yebo’’ has gained her an extensive following. She has performed locally and in South Africa Women in Praise alongside with other South African gospel celebrities.

5.Phathwakahle Mabuza

Phathwa is known as Queen of Swazi gospel. She shot to her fame after releasing her famous album ‘Akezeli Akalali and ‘Kukhona Okuzowenzeka’. The queen of gospel has gone beyond the countrys borders where she graced many stages including Ukhozi FM Easter festival, the Nelson Mandela Prayer and the Mpumalanga Arts and Culture crossover.

6.Cleopatra Methula

Cleopatra is a country music singer, song writer and guitar player, referred to as the ”Queen of Country”. With her golden matured voice, her original song writing skills she has written both Siswati and English, creating a new energetic scene in the country music world. S he is the first country musician to be nominated and invited to perform at the Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards from Eswatini.
