Radio presenter and actor Khaya Dladla’s on-again, off-again relationship with Uzalo is not going to take shape anytime soon – that’s if recent reports are anything to go by.

The actor, who portrays the character of GC (a flamboyant gay hairstylist that viewers love) is said to be leaving the SABC1 drama series again.

According to Daily Sun, GC will no longer be appearing on the 8:30PM drama series as his storyline is just not cutting it with the show’s audience. This is besides the fact the he had just returned in March, along with other old faces, in a bid to grow the show’s viewership.

Although the other cast members allegedly had short storylines, Khaya’s was much longer – in fact, it was for the entire season. But, according to sources, the reception from viewers was not what the producers had expected. This then led to his character being allegedly put on ice again.

“Viewers were complaining on social media that his storyline was boring. They even asked why he was brought back. Producers then had to go back to the drawing board,”
 a source told Daily Sun.

Another source said that even though as it stands, Khaya is no longer shooting, all of that may change on Monday during the writer’s workshop.

“Writers and producers will meet on Monday for the storyline writing workshop. Maybe things will change during the workshop. We don’t know, but GC adds spice to Uzalo. We hope that producers bring him back,”
 the mole explained.

When the publication contacted Khaya, he said Uzalo would decide his future.
