The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has been unfavorable to the performing arts and live sports games. Our artists, theatres and sports have been heavily hit as they cannot generate income from audiences at live events.

It is for this reason that Swazi Boy Entertainment’s Mthunzi “Shadow” Zwane has come up with the campaign “Jovel’ Industry” to be launched tomorrow at Business Eswatini in Malagwane. The campaign seeks to unite people to vaccinate especially the youth in order to achieve the goal of going back to normal lives. We have seen that other countries are starting to open their sporting and entertainment venues to larger live audiences, with the provision that they produce proof of vaccination.

It’s heartening to see how some artists and venues have been innovative in bringing in virtual audiences and it’s good to see that communities have been supporting artists and events through buying virtual seats to online events. However,  there’s still cries of both industries who want to be able to open their doors to physical attendance again.
