KrTC of hip hop
Born 25th April, KrTC (real name Thamsanqa Sibandze) is a songwriter, MC/host and occasional vocalist from Eswatini. His stage name KrTC is pronounced as courtesy. He is one of the handful of Swazis who, after high school, took the road less travelled: that of pursuing a childhood passion, music.
Family & upbringing
While growing up, he spent most of his time in the library reading marketing books and visiting music studios so as to learn more about sound engineering and music production.
Early Years in Music
He began spitting his rhymes– from dancefloor ready booty songs to inspirational hustler anthems– even before hip-hop was taken seriously in the kingdom.
To fulfill his ambitions within the music industry, he established a crew called Mic’aholix. The group was made up of rappers, a beat boxer and a poet. As a group, they hosted and performed at numerous shows.
Music Career
In 2011 formed Siyinqaba together with Muzi Mozaik Ngwenya. The duo made history when they won the prestigious Tihlabane Album of the Year Award in 2010, making them the first contemporary music outfit to ever win this award.
The project featured a number of influential names in the Swazi music scene. Through it, the duo managed to score performances in South Africa and have one of their songs played on Big Brother Africa.
