Not Age nor sickness can ever prepare us for losing a parent. And once they disappear from this world they leave a void that no one can ever fill. For Phiwase it has been a year since she lost her mom.
In memory of her late mother, the local fashion designer Phiwase Nxumalo shared her mother’s snap on her social media page with the caption:
“There are the days when I have to remind myself that I / We would NEVER have been ready! When there is no sleep just tears!! Then I have to lean on the blessing of having called you my MOTHER!
My biggest supporter / my love / my besto / my centre & my guide /my ‘friend’ as you would say when you had a juicy tale to tell me!
I often these days feel LOST but you say in.my ear ‘Phiwaae you are my mine! I loved & birthed you! My instructions were & will always be clear be Strong / Love yourself / be Graceful / always always be Kind!
Your father, brother & I you got you! You are loved beyond measure! Go forth & make us proud!
Ps. And don’t tell down the side! Do not forget to laugh & play! Just look at me here all Diva’ed up & looking fine!”
