When Jude Kasaro, son of respected Christian leader Bishop Robert Kasaro, appeared on the Living on Purpose Podcast about a year ago, he shared a side of church life that many people rarely hear about—the reality of growing up as a pastor’s child.
Jude spoke openly about one of the biggest challenges PKs face: time. With parents deeply committed to God’s work, especially leaders like Bishop Robert Kasaro of Jesus Cause Worship Center (JCWC), family time can often be limited. It’s a sacrifice many pastors’ kids learn to understand early in life.
He also addressed the pressure placed on pastors’ children to be “perfect.” According to Jude, society often forgets that PKs are still kids—bound to make mistakes, learn, and grow just like everyone else. That expectation, he explained, can be heavy.
Instead of being pushed away from church life, Jude chose to lean into it. He began his ministry journey as a youth minister, using his own experiences to relate to young people navigating faith, pressure, and purpose.
Jude’s honesty resonated with listeners and added a human side to the public image of Bishop Robert Kasaro, reminding many that behind every spiritual leader is a real family walking a real journey.
Sometimes, the most powerful stories are the ones told simply—and truthfully.
