“… State of grief, sadness. For me, Anele was and still is my whole life… I wake up every day I am numb. I find it very hard to get up in the mornings to make it through the day. I am grieving,” says Kiernan Forbes.

Anele Tembe died on April 11, after she apparently fell from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town. It’s been confirmed that there’s an ongoing investigation into the circumstances around her death.

“There’s so much noise around everything and there’s so much going on. It’s hard for me to take the time and to find the time, and peace to mourn and grieve. My thoughts are also with her family. It’s not just my loss, it’s their loss as well,” says Kiernan Forbes.

“I never wanted to lay things bare. I never really wanted to be in this position and have to explain. I just wanted to mourn and grieve but I think the events of the last week or the last two… really put me in a position whereby I now need to tell the truth, I need to speak and my voice needs to be heard because people want to know from me,” shares Kiernan Forbes.

Kiernan Forbes says that they had gone to Cape Town because Anele Tembe accompanies him to many of his work engagements, and they had the best time in the Mother City.

Kiernan Forbes also admitted that the week before they went to Cape Town they have been having a difficult week in their relationship, accompanied by a lot of disagreements, arguments, and sop forth.

Kiernan Forbes says that they decided to start talking about issues affecting their relationship, and that’s when the arguments broke again. According to him, Anele Tembe took off her ring and “kind” threw it at him.

He says things got worse when she threatened to kill herself, including jumping off a moving car. He apparently went to the bathroom and when he came out of the bathroom Anele Tembe was not in the room.
